“Hyperoptic Leads Major Telecoms in Mid-Contract Price Hike”

Must Read

Hyperoptic, a broadband provider, has announced a larger mid-contract price increase for its customers. Starting from April 2026, customers will see their monthly bill rise by £4, up from the previous increase of £3.

The price hike will impact both new and existing customers across all Hyperoptic broadband plans. Despite previously opposing annual price rises, Hyperoptic is now among several major telecom companies that have recently announced significant increases.

In 2023, policy director James Fredrikson stated, “At Hyperoptic we don’t implement mid-contract price rises. We believe in maintaining the advertised price throughout the contract period.”

Sky Mobile has revealed that the majority of its customers will experience a £1.50 monthly bill increase from February 14, 2026, marking the first price adjustment for in-contract customers in over seven years. O2 has also announced a rise in monthly mobile bills by £2.50 from April 2026, higher than the initially planned increase of £1.80.

For Three mobile customers with data plans of 4GB or less, a £1.80 monthly increase will take effect from April 2026, an 80p raise from the current £1 increment. Customers with plans between 4GB and 100GB will face a £1.90 rise, while those with over 100GB will see a £2.30 increase per month.

Moreover, Three broadband customers can expect a £3.50 monthly rise from April 2026. Vodafone mobile customers signing up from November 12 will experience a £2.50 monthly increase, or £1.50 for Basics SIM plans. Vodafone broadband users will also encounter a £3.50 monthly price surge.

If you are not in a contract, you may be overpaying for your mobile and broadband services. To save money, consider comparing prices online, assessing your actual usage needs, and potentially negotiating with your current provider for better deals. Additionally, individuals receiving benefits should explore eligibility for discounted social tariffs.
