“Keir Starmer Rules Out Peter Mandelson’s Return Amid Epstein Link”

Must Read

Keir Starmer has made clear that Peter Mandelson will not be rejoining the government following his removal as the UK’s top diplomat in Washington. The Prime Minister terminated Mandelson’s ambassadorship after new revelations regarding his association with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Emails disclosed Mandelson’s support for Epstein’s early release shortly before his imprisonment.

Mandelson, known as the “Prince of Darkness,” faced his third controversial exit from a government role, having been appointed as the UK’s ambassador to the US in December 2024. Starmer indicated that there is no future government role for Mandelson and that he is currently on leave from the House of Lords.

In a recent development, Mandelson will lose the Freedom of Hartlepool accolade due to his connections with Epstein. The search is ongoing for a new US ambassador to manage relations with the Trump administration, with James Roscoe acting as the interim ambassador.

Regarding Michelle Mone, the Scottish entrepreneur linked to a PPE contract scandal, Starmer refrained from commenting on her possible removal from the House of Lords. Mone had previously lost the Tory whip in 2022 for her involvement in the PPE Medpro controversy.
