Nicola Golen’s goal in the second minute of extra time secured a 2-2 draw for Ottawa Rapid against AFC Toronto on Sunday at TD Place. Golen’s equalizer in the 92nd minute helped the league-leading Rapid earn an additional point in their standings. Melanie Forbes had scored Ottawa’s first goal in the 13th minute, while Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky found the net for third-place Toronto (7-4-4).
In the 63rd minute, both teams were reduced to 10 players after Choo Hyojoo of the Rapid and Cloey Uddenberg of AFC Toronto received red cards. Earlier on the same day, it was announced that Ottawa’s TD Place would host the Northern Super League final on Nov. 14.
