Ottawa has been selected as the host city for the upcoming Northern Super League championship game scheduled for November 14. The championship match, known as the Diana B. Matheson Cup, will be a winner-take-all event held at TD Place. Playoffs leading up to the final game will span two weeks, and the detailed schedule will be released in the near future.
The Diana B. Matheson Cup, named in tribute to Canadian soccer icon and NSL co-founder Diana Matheson, serves as a prestigious trophy honoring the league champion and exemplifying the advancement of professional women’s soccer in Canada. Ottawa Rapid FC, leading the NSL standings with a record of 10-2-3, is poised for a strong competition.
Last season, Vancouver Rise FC emerged victorious in the league’s inaugural year by clinching the championship title.
