“Top-ranked Tennis Player Jannik Sinner Withdraws from Cincinnati Open”

Must Read

Jannik Sinner, the top-ranked male tennis player in the world, has pulled out of the Cincinnati Open due to a knee injury. Sinner, who last played at Wimbledon and skipped the National Bank Open in Montreal, is aiming to complete a career Grand Slam by winning the French Open. In a statement, Sinner expressed disappointment at missing the Masters 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, citing ongoing knee issues that prevent him from competing. He is now focusing on preparing for the upcoming U.S. Open.

This decision by Sinner follows Carlos Alcaraz’s withdrawal from the same event due to a wrist injury. With both top players absent, fans in Cincinnati will miss the chance to watch them in action when the men’s singles competition kicks off. Sinner, who previously won the Cincinnati title and then went on to claim the U.S. Open, is determined to return to form next year.

Alcaraz, who defeated Sinner in the U.S. Open final last year, will aim to defend his title as the main draw of the tournament commences on August 30.
