Apple has introduced AppleCare One in the UK, following its successful launch in the US last year. This subscription service offers British customers a convenient and potentially cost-effective way to safeguard multiple Apple devices under a single plan.
For a monthly fee of £16.99, AppleCare One provides coverage for up to three eligible devices, including iPhones, iPads, Macs, and Apple Watches. In case of accidental damage, loss, or theft, Apple will either repair the device or offer up to three replacement devices per year, depending on the nature of the claim.
AppleCare One is an extension of the existing AppleCare+ program, which already includes unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery servicing, and 24/7 priority access to Apple support. The key advantage of AppleCare One is the ability for customers to protect multiple products with a single subscription, eliminating the need to purchase separate plans for each device.
This consolidated approach could result in substantial savings. Apple estimates that individuals covering an iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch could save up to £11.48 per month compared to acquiring individual AppleCare+ plans with Theft and Loss coverage for each device.
Notably, there is no requirement for customers to have recently purchased a new device to enroll in AppleCare One. Eligible devices, up to four years old and in good condition, can be added to the plan. This flexibility represents a significant improvement over the standard 60-day window for purchasing AppleCare+ after acquiring a device.
Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, emphasized the company’s commitment to providing exceptional customer experiences with AppleCare One. He highlighted the simplicity and flexibility of the service, offering one plan, one price, and the assurance that all eligible products can be covered seamlessly.
Moreover, the subscription adapts to device upgrades. When a covered device is traded in for a new one from Apple, the old product is automatically removed from the plan, and the new device is added without any additional steps required.
