Apple has commenced its annual WWDC Developers Conference at its futuristic headquarters in Cupertino. The tech giant is set to unveil iOS 27 this fall, superseding the current iOS 26 operating system. Once installed, iOS 27 will introduce enhancements like customizable Liquid Glass appearance, improved file search capabilities, and a more intelligent Siri capable of various tasks like email composition and ticket booking for events.
Apple has assured that even older iPhone models will experience improved responsiveness with the introduction of the CPU Scheduler feature. Overall performance enhancements are expected across all devices, including up to 30% faster app launches on iPhones and iPads, 70% faster photo loading times, and up to 80% faster AirDrop transfers.
Furthermore, Apple is introducing new parental control features designed to provide families with more control over their children’s device usage, content access, and communication permissions. These features aim to simplify the setup process and reduce parental anxiety when handing over iPhones to children.
Sumbul Desai, M.D., Apple’s vice president of Health and Fitness, emphasized the company’s commitment to empowering users and ensuring their safety through technology. The upcoming iOS update will focus on implementing age-based protections and promoting healthy digital habits within families.
Apple has confirmed that all iPhones currently running iOS 26 will be eligible for the iOS 27 update. Compatible devices include a range of iPhone models from iPhone 11 to the latest iPhone 17 series, as well as iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation).
