A smartwatch priced significantly lower than Apple’s popular model and a supermarket brand of ketchup have been recognized among the top products of 2025.
The consumer advocacy group Which? conducted extensive testing on over 2,000 items to determine their quality and value for money. They have now unveiled their selection of the top 50 products of the year, which stood out for various positive reasons. Some were deemed the best in their category, others were inventive, and a few were surprisingly affordable.
Leading the list is the budget-friendly Amazfit Bip 6 smartwatch, priced at just under £63 in certain outlets. This is approximately one-fourth of the cost of Apple’s cheapest counterpart but offers a comparable level of quality. Which? praised the fitness-tracking capabilities and GPS features of the smartwatch, labeling it a “game-changer” and awarding it five stars for user-friendliness and display performance. The review stated, “It truly deserves recognition for its exceptional quality at an affordable price, setting a benchmark for other brands to follow.”
Ranking third is Asda’s Classic Tomato Ketchup, lauded for its rich tomato flavor with a well-balanced sweetness that avoids artificial taste. In a taste comparison, it scored equivalently to the popular Heinz ketchup but is around 70% cheaper per 100g.
Just above Asda’s ketchup is Skoda’s Elroq electric car, the most expensive item in the top 50 list, priced at over £30,000. Which? described the SUV as cost-effective to operate and purchase compared to its competitors, emphasizing the premium quality of the vehicle. The review exclaimed, “We were thoroughly impressed by this exceptional car that exudes quality despite its affordability.”
Another cost-effective product that outperformed pricier alternatives is Aldi’s Magnum Premium Washing Up Liquid, securing the tenth spot in the annual ranking of top products. Priced at 95p for a 500ml bottle, this offering from the discount supermarket received an overall rating of 73%, surpassing the popular Fairy Original, which scored 72%.
The remaining products in the top 50 range from household appliances and cutting-edge technology to bedding, baby strollers, and power tools.
Harry Rose, the editor of Which? Magazine, commented, “Our experts rigorously evaluate thousands of products each year based on real-world performance, reliability, energy efficiency, and value for money, covering a wide array of categories from everyday essentials to the latest tech innovations. Compiling this coveted list is a challenging process, with only a select few earning a spot among the standout products of the year.”
He added, “In 2025, a prominent trend was the focus on products that enhance domestic life. Whether it’s a cost-effective TV for movie nights, a stylish record player for music enthusiasts, or a home pizza oven that elevates cooking experiences, these top products offer not just functionality but also a blend of quality, convenience, and delight.”
