The popular TV show “Scrubs” is making a return to television screens in early 2026, and fans are excited about the cast lineup for the upcoming 10th season. Originally broadcast on NBC from 2001 to 2008, the sitcom followed the life of Doctor John ‘JD’ Dorian (portrayed by Zach Braff) and his colleagues at Sacred Heart Hospital.
After NBC decided not to renew the show, ABC picked it up for an eighth season, which was supposed to be the final one. However, a ninth season titled ‘Med School’ was later commissioned in 2009, set at a medical school with a new cast. Although ABC canceled the series in 2010, “Scrubs” is now back in production for its 10th season, scheduled to premiere in February 2026.
The upcoming season will feature several original cast members reprising their roles, including Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke as Elliot Reid, Donald Faison as Christopher Turk, and Judy Reyes as Carla Espinosa.
The official Scrubs account on TikTok shared a video announcing the start of production for the 10th season, leading fans to notice that some returning cast members seemed not to have aged much, even after 15 years since the show last aired.
Fans were quick to point out the apparent lack of aging in certain actors. Comments on the video praised Sarah Chalke’s timeless appearance, with one fan remarking, “It’s like Sarah Chalke doesn’t age at all.” Another fan noted, “Sarah hasn’t aged a day!”
Viewers were surprised to see that John C. McGinley was missing from the video, expressing their reluctance to have a Scrubs reboot without his character, Dr. Perry Cox. However, it has been confirmed that McGinley will indeed reprise his role in the reboot.
Sadly, one character who will not be returning is Ted Buckland, played by the late Sam Lloyd, who passed away in 2020 at the age of 56. Fans have expressed their sadness at the absence of Ted in the upcoming season.
Scrubs season 10 is set to premiere on ABC in February 2026. While the original series is available for streaming on Disney+ in the UK, the airing details for Season 10 in the UK have not been officially announced yet.
