A former cast member of the TV show Boy Meets World has recently become a parent for the first time at the age of 45. Ben Savage, known for his role as Cory Matthews on the series, as well as the Disney sequel Girl Meets World, shared heartwarming photos of his newborn daughter on social media.
Ben and his wife, Tessa Arngermeier, who got married in March 2023, welcomed their baby earlier this week. The actor made the joyful announcement on Instagram while celebrating Thanksgiving.
In the post, Ben expressed his excitement, captioning the photos with “Welcome little one.” One image featured Ben holding his baby’s hand in the hospital crib, while another showed Tessa cradling their newborn with pure joy.
Aside from bonding with his new bundle of joy, Ben was also captured strolling in the hospital hallway pushing the crib. The post garnered over 77,000 likes and received an outpouring of comments. Matthew Lawrence, Ben’s co-star from Boy Meets World, shared his excitement, wishing Ben a happy Thanksgiving.
Maitland Ward, who played Rachel McGuire on the show, congratulated the couple, echoing sentiments of joy from fans. Before tying the knot in February 2023, Ben and Tessa had been in a relationship for over four years, making their public debut on Ben’s Instagram in August 2018. While Ben is known for his acting career, Tessa works as a senior graphic designer hailing from Indiana.
Although Ben is involved in the entertainment industry, Tessa works at Ben Soleimani, a luxury furniture store in West Hollywood. She also has ties to the entertainment world through her role as a graphic designer, merchandise manager, and tour manager for the band, The Growlers.
In a previous interview, Ben emphasized the importance of following one’s heart, indicating that happiness comes from making sacrifices to pursue what truly matters. Tessa showed her support for Ben when he ran for West Hollywood City Council a few years back, sporting “Savage for West Hollywood” shirts.
Currently, Ben has shifted his focus from acting to philanthropy and politics. Reports suggest that he is no longer in contact with some of his former co-stars, including Danielle Fishel, who expressed surprise at his absence from their lives. Ben also declined to participate in a Boy Meets World rewatch podcast, giving his co-stars his blessing to continue without him.
