Following his exclusion from the doubles at the 2021 Davis Cup Finals, Evans revealed his efforts to be included in the doubles matches but to no avail. He expressed his frustration and stated that he might reconsider his participation in future events if the situation persisted.
In the subsequent year, Evans and Neal Skupski secured a victory in their doubles match against Colombia, contributing to Great Britain’s successful advancement in the Davis Cup Finals. However, Evans was sidelined for the 2023 finale due to an injury.
