During the holiday season, many individuals seek additional income to replenish their finances. Retired police officer Roy Foulkes, residing in West Hallam, Derbyshire, has successfully earned over £5,500 in cash and vouchers by identifying and reporting vacant properties through YouSpotProperty since discovering the platform in 2024.

YouSpotProperty compensates individuals for pinpointing and reporting long-term empty residences. Initially, a £20 Amazon or M&S voucher is rewarded for correct identifications. Moreover, if the company purchases, renovates, and sells the property, spotters receive 1% of the purchase price, capped at £10,000.

Roy has accrued £4,750 in 1% rewards from two properties salvaged by YouSpotProperty, along with 39 £20 vouchers amounting to £780. The first property, initially reported to the local council by Roy, earned him £2,350, while the second property brought in £1,620 more recently. These earnings have funded household items, vacations, and quality time with his grandchildren.

The opportunity to earn rewards through property reporting has enabled Roy to enjoy various experiences, from witnessing the Northern Lights on a cruise in Norway to planned trips to Disneyland and Southampton for a cruise and tours. In addition to the monetary rewards, Roy has utilized his vouchers for household purchases, finding fulfillment in contributing to society while earning extra income.

YouSpotProperty addresses the issue of vacant properties, with an estimated £465 billion worth of unoccupied homes in England and Wales. The platform distributes an average of 110 £20 M&S or Amazon vouchers monthly to reporters of eligible properties, with 350 to 450 properties reported each week. Monthly, an average of seven 1% reward fees are paid for acquired properties, ranging from £17,000 to £3 million over the past year.

Co-founder of YouSpotProperty.com, Benjamin Radstone, emphasized the positive impact of bringing empty properties back into use and sharing rewards with the public. The platform has contributed to revitalizing numerous properties and rewarding individuals for their contributions.
