“Tiger Woods Takes Golf Break After Seventh Back Surgery”

Must Read

Tiger Woods recently announced that he will be taking a break from golf following a back surgery he underwent in October. This surgery marked the seventh procedure on his back and the third major operation he has had in the past two years, including surgeries on his Achilles and ankle.

Despite his notable victory at the Masters in 2019, Woods has struggled to remain competitive in the sport due to ongoing injuries. While he hosted the Hero World Challenge tournament in the Bahamas, he acknowledged that it will be some time before he can return to playing regularly.

Although Woods initially made light-hearted remarks about his potential future schedule, he later emphasized the need to focus on his recovery before committing to any specific plans. He mentioned that he had recently been cleared to start chipping and putting after a six-week recovery period, highlighting the slow progress post-disc replacement surgery.

One major driving force for Woods is the opportunity to break the PGA record for all-time tournament wins, which he currently shares with Sam Snead at 82 victories. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, noted that the golfer’s primary challenge post-surgeries is the physical demand of walking the course.

Woods remains determined to make a successful comeback but understands the importance of prioritizing his health and rehabilitation before returning to competitive play.
