A tragic incident unfolded at a circus in Bautzen, Germany, as a circus acrobat named Marina B tragically fell to her death during a trapeze stunt in front of a shocked audience. More than 80 spectators witnessed the horrifying accident as she plummeted to the ground.
The Paul Busch Circus show came to a halt as screams filled the air, and emergency services rushed to the scene following the fatal fall. A notice posted on the circus’s ticket booth informed the public of the closure due to the tragic event.
In the aftermath, parents shielded their children’s eyes inside the tent, and police confirmed Marina B’s immediate death during her solo performance. Marina, originally from Mallorca, was known for her passion for the circus arts, as evidenced by her final Instagram post showcasing her in action with the caption “Up here, I work best.”
The circus is yet to issue a statement regarding the incident. Police spokesperson Stefan Heiduck mentioned that crisis intervention experts were on-site to provide support to those in need, ensuring the well-being of guests and circus staff.
Mayor Karten Vogt expressed deep sorrow over the accident, extending heartfelt condolences to the affected families. Ralf Huppertz, the head of Germany’s circus association, remarked on the unusual nature of Marina’s tragic fall, speculating that dizziness on the trapeze could have been a factor.
