“Trump’s Covert Plane Switch Amid Iran Threat”

Must Read

U.S. President Donald Trump undertook a covert military journey from Turkey recently due to an Iranian threat, involving a switch between aircraft in a catering truck. Initially reported as flying on Air Force One from Turkey to Britain after a NATO summit, Trump actually departed the plane secretly through a catering truck and boarded a different aircraft. Trump later acknowledged the situation, stating that the Secret Service and military advised him to switch planes due to a security threat, which he dismissed as not intimidating. He mentioned that he had limited involvement in the decision and downplayed the risk to those remaining on the original plane, including White House officials and journalists. Trump’s decision to change planes raised security concerns, as he had initially traveled to the NATO summit in Ankara on a newly renovated jet donated by Qatar. The unexpected switch to an older Air Force One when leaving Turkey led to questions about the security of the newer aircraft, especially amid escalating tensions with Iran. Prior to the departure from Ankara, Trump announced on social media that he would use the older Air Force One for the journey to RAF Mildenhall in Britain, allowing U.S. service members at the base to tour the new plane. Journalists who believed they were flying with Trump on the older aircraft were instructed to keep their window shades closed, as it was being used as a decoy. Some White House staff were also unaware of the switch. When questioned about the closed shades during the flight, Trump implied it was for safety reasons and asserted that journalists would accompany him wherever he went.
