A judge has permanently banned a woman, Yasmin Green, from entering a UK city after she admitted to defrauding her partner of thousands of pounds through deceitful actions. Green confessed to fabricating a nonexistent property to secure a fraudulent £5,000 loan, as well as forging documents to support the purchase of a car in her partner’s name without consent.
The court heard that Green, 34, from Grimsby, engaged in a series of deceptive acts, including creating a false identity to manipulate her partner into financial agreements. Prosecutors revealed that Green even impersonated another individual, ‘Danielle,’ to persuade her partner to take out loans for a non-existent flat.
Following an investigation, it was discovered that Green had obtained finance in her partner’s name without authorization, leading to financial distress for the victim. The victim, who had to take a year off work to address the repercussions of Green’s actions, expressed deep betrayal and financial hardship caused by the deceitful behavior.
In sentencing Green, Recorder Nicholas Worsley KC criticized her manipulative and deceitful conduct, emphasizing the breach of trust and emotional harm inflicted on her partner. Despite expressing remorse in court, Green was handed a suspended two-year prison sentence, with additional requirements for rehabilitation and community service.
Moreover, Green was issued a lifelong Restraining Order prohibiting any contact with her former partner and a permanent ban from entering the city of Hull. The judge also mandated monthly compensation payments and a surcharge as part of the restitution for the financial harm caused.
