“Ellen DeGeneres Shares Glimpse of Cotswolds Retreat”

Must Read

Ellen DeGeneres has given a rare glimpse into her private life alongside her spouse, Portia de Rossi. The former TV host, aged 67, has shared intimate photos on Instagram from their new residence in the Cotswolds, a property estimated at £20 million. The couple relocated from the US following the 2016 presidential election won by Donald Trump.

Joining numerous other celebrities like Cardi B, Lili Reinhart, and Christina Applegate who criticized Trump supporters before the election, Ellen and her 52-year-old partner expressed their disappointment post-election and decided to start afresh in England.

In the Instagram posts, the couple seems to have comfortably settled in their beautiful home, showcasing an open-plan layout in the kitchen, dining area, and living room. The comedian’s photos reveal floor-to-ceiling windows offering a picturesque view of the lush green backyard.

Ellen and Portia, married in 2008, have reportedly made enhancements to the property, incorporating an elegant ivory and matte mocha latte beige color palette. Their decor features a stylish tiled dining table with eight leather chairs, a glass coffee table, and a lounge chair set on muted grey and ecru rugs.

This modest design approach starkly contrasts with Donald Trump’s preferences, as he is known to have demolished parts of his own residence in the US to make way for a lavish ballroom at the White House.

Despite a successful career spanning over four decades in the US, Ellen seems content with her minimalist style, as seen in her Instagram video showing their dogs, Sport and Kid, frolicking around the estate. The property also houses horses, chickens, and sheep, aiding in maintaining the grounds in the tranquil Cotswolds, a favored location for celebrities seeking refuge from the urban rush.

Recently, Ellen mentioned, “When we chose to live here permanently, we knew Portia couldn’t be without her horses. We required a residence with suitable facilities and pastures for them.”

“The Ellen DeGeneres Show” aired on various NBC stations between 2003 and May 2022, winning 63 Daytime Emmy Awards, with four for Outstanding Talk Show.
