An online personality has criticized individuals known as “trolls” for causing an incident where he was confronted by armed police at a UK hospital while he was with his newborn twin daughters.
The individual, identified as Sam Walker, recounted the event when armed officers arrived at Arrowe Park Hospital in Wirral on Sunday afternoon and took him into custody. Merseyside Police later disclosed that a 42-year-old man, previously from Liverpool, was apprehended on suspicion of possessing a firearm, a claim that Walker confirmed on TikTok, attributing the situation to false allegations made by online “trolls.”
Walker, who describes himself as an influencer with a significant online following, hails from Liverpool and has resided in Spain, sharing content about his travels to various countries like Sierra Leone, Turkey, and Thailand. While he has discussed encounters with criminals, he has also faced accusations of embellishing his narratives.
In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Walker detailed how what should have been a joyous occasion turned distressing when the police arrived at the hospital. He recounted, “The trolls contacted the hospital when they knew I was there, falsely claiming I possessed firearms and predicting a violent confrontation. They informed the police that I was armed and dangerous.”
“My newborn babies were just two days old when armed officers stormed in with guns pointed at me while I held them in my arms. They demanded I accompany them, so I handed the babies to their mother and complied. As they escorted me away, they mentioned receiving tips that I was carrying weapons, and that’s when I broke down,” Walker expressed.
Following the incident, Walker was detained but later released after a four-hour interrogation, with the police ultimately deciding not to pursue further action after an investigation.
Reflecting on the ordeal, Walker stated, “I was confident the charges would be dropped as there was no evidence against me since I had done nothing wrong. I must commend the police for reassuring my baby’s mother and everyone else at the hospital that they were safe.”
Expressing appreciation for the police’s conduct towards his partner during the distressing situation, Walker emphasized his lack of criticism towards them, acknowledging that they were simply fulfilling their duties. He is now advocating for accountability for those responsible for the false emergency call.
“I urge the individuals behind the call to face consequences. It’s crucial for them to understand that fabricating claims about firearms at a hospital, where innocent individuals, including newborns, are present, is utterly despicable,” Walker remarked.
Merseyside Police confirmed that no further measures would be taken following a thorough investigation into the incident, assuring that the man arrested had been informed of the outcome.
