A man has tragically passed away in a hospital following an early morning disturbance in Rhydyfelin, prompting a murder investigation. South Wales Police reported that during the incident, three men in their twenties sustained injuries and were hospitalized. Regrettably, one of the men has succumbed to his injuries, while the other two remain under medical care.
In connection with the incident, a 30-year-old man from Rhydyfelin has been apprehended on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, while a 22-year-old man from Tonteg and a 20-year-old woman from Penygraig have also been arrested on suspicion of murder and wounding with intent, respectively. All three suspects are currently in police custody as the investigation progresses.

Local MP Alex Davies Jones expressed awareness of the serious incident and assured the community of ongoing support and updates. Detective Superintendent Paul Raikes emphasized the swift investigation process and noted an increased police presence in the area, with a cordon established on Masefield Way between Poets Close and Shakespeare Rise.
