A deceased individual has been discovered during the search for a British tourist who had gone missing from his accommodation in Spain. Authorities have confirmed the finding of the body in the vicinity of the Costa Brava resort of Lloret de Mar. The man’s identity has not yet been officially disclosed, but there are strong indications that it may be the missing holidaymaker, Josh Rogers.
Reports suggest that investigators have reason to believe that the body could belong to Josh. Although formal confirmation is pending the outcome of tests, sources close to the investigation have expressed a high likelihood that the deceased person is indeed the British tourist.
Josh, originally from Bloxwich near Walsall in the West Midlands, had been sharing updates about his trip to Lloret on social media. He posted about his journey, including a picture of a Strongbow cider at Birmingham Airport before departing for Spain.
He expressed his anticipation for the getaway in various posts leading up to his departure, indicating his excitement for the upcoming holiday. Days later, he posted a tribute to boxer Ricky Hatton. Concerns arose when he failed to make contact after arriving in Spain, prompting his loved ones to initiate a search effort.
Family members and friends raised the alarm about Josh’s disappearance, highlighting that he had not been seen or heard from for days, with his belongings left untouched in his hotel room. The situation escalated as it became apparent that he was missing, leading to coordinated efforts between Spanish and British authorities to locate him.
Following the discovery of a body near Lloret de Mar, police, along with emergency services, responded to the scene to investigate. Although the cause of death remains undetermined, initial assessments did not indicate any signs of foul play. Authorities have kept Josh’s relatives informed as they await official confirmation regarding the identity of the deceased individual.
In a separate incident, a British man, Andrew Wade, who had vanished in the Costa del Sol region, was also found deceased after being reported missing. His case, along with that of another missing Brit, Clifford Wildgoose, underscores the challenges faced by authorities and families in such distressing situations.
