Warm weather in the UK this weekend could lead to issues for Freeview users due to a high-pressure system affecting TV signals. The BBC has highlighted two main problems caused by high pressure: weakened reception and potential signal interference. Freeview has advised viewers not to retune their TVs during this period, as disruptions may occur until Monday when the high-pressure conditions are expected to subside.
For uninterrupted viewing, individuals with smart TVs can switch to Freeview Play for online access to live or on-demand programs. Additionally, internet-connected TVs with channel apps can still provide services like BBC iPlayer, ITVX, Channel 4, and Channel 5. The Freeview mobile app is also available for free downloads. Alternatively, Freely, a streaming platform supported by the same group as Freeview and Freesat, offers over 50 live and on-demand channels through broadband, unaffected by weather conditions. Users can benefit from features such as pausing live TV, personalized recommendations, and an interactive guide to current and upcoming programs.
