Must Read

Sky subscribers who enjoy movie marathons are in for a treat as the broadcasting giant is set to revamp its channel lineup. Sky has announced the merger of Sky Cinema Animation (channel 312) with Sky Cinema Family, consolidating both services into a single channel on April 30.

Despite the reduction in the number of channels, Sky emphasizes that this move aims to streamline the service, offering a unified destination for family-friendly movies on channel 304. Following the transition, viewers can access popular titles like the Shrek series, The Secret Life of Pets, Smurfs, How to Train Your Dragon, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, and Wicked all in one place.

While the standalone Sky Cinema Animation channel is being discontinued, fans need not worry. The channel will make a temporary comeback during school holidays to keep children entertained. Sky has confirmed that it will be available from July 24 to August 30, October 23 to November 1, and December 1 to January 5.

In other news, Sky has diversified its offerings by venturing into the home security market with the introduction of new smart devices. Customers can now subscribe to a Sky Smart Doorbell and Chime for £5 per month, along with a £15 upfront fee. This system features full HD video recording, instant mobile alerts, customizable activity zones, two-way audio, and 30 days of cloud video storage.

For those seeking additional functionalities, Sky also presents a Smart Home Bundle with Smart Home Plan+ priced at £8 per month and a £20 upfront charge. This package includes an indoor camera and extra app controls, such as scheduled arming and automatic device modes.

Paul Sweeney, the Managing Director of Sky Smart Home, emphasized the company’s commitment to making premium smart technology more accessible. Sky has focused on delivering features that customers value most, ensuring simplicity in use, ease of management, and affordability.
