Keith Urban has managed to keep details about his personal life under wraps while working on a new TV show for several months. The renowned country singer and actress Nicole Kidman surprised the entertainment industry by announcing their divorce last month after being together for 19 years.
Nicole, an Oscar-winning actress, filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences in their long-standing marriage. The couple, who tied the knot in Sydney in 2006 after meeting at an event in Los Angeles in 2005, have two daughters aged 17 and 14.
The news of their separation sent shockwaves through Hollywood as they were considered one of the most solid couples in the business. Even Keith’s co-stars, with whom he collaborated from February to April this year, were taken aback by the divorce.
Before their split became public, Keith and Nicole had already separated and were living apart. Keith participated in the CBS show “The Road” this year, a series following 12 country music stars on tour in Texas, Oklahoma, and Tennessee.
During their time working together, singer-songwriter Billie Jo Jones claimed she was unaware of Keith’s personal struggles. She mentioned that Keith remained focused on his work and displayed a high level of professionalism throughout their collaboration.
In the show’s premiere episode, Keith discussed the challenges of touring away from his family, emphasizing that performing is a calling he is destined to fulfill. Despite his personal difficulties, Keith continued his tour, including the High and Alive World Tour, with a recent performance in Pennsylvania.
Interestingly, Keith made a significant change to his setlist by performing “The Fighter,” a song he had previously dedicated to Nicole. He also modified lyrics in his breakup hit “You’ll Think of Me.” The Mirror reached out to Keith’s representative for further comments.
