“Tragic House Fire Victim Mourned as Murder Suspect Faces Charges”

A man tragically lost his life in a house fire, prompting a heartfelt tribute from his family. Daniel Gardner, aged 37, sustained severe injuries during the fire at a residence in Highters Heath around 1.10 am on Friday and passed away shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Tyler Phythian, 18, from Cherrywood Road, Birmingham, appeared in Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday, facing murder charges. He was remanded in custody until a plea hearing scheduled for November 25. Another individual, Stephen Dale, 47, also from Cherrywood Road, Birmingham, was charged with the murder of Mr. Gardner on Sunday. He too was remanded in custody pending a plea hearing at the same court on November 25.

In a poignant tribute, Mr. Gardner’s family expressed their deep sorrow, describing him as a loving father. The family’s heartfelt message, conveyed through the police, highlighted their profound loss and the pain they are experiencing.

The West Midlands Police extended their sympathies to Daniel’s family during this difficult period and assured them of their unwavering support as the investigation progresses.
