A tragic incident occurred at a bustling scrapyard in Manchester when a man in his 40s lost his life due to a car falling on him. The unfortunate event took place at J Davidson on Atlantic Street, Trafford, in Altrincham’s Broadheath area. Emergency services responded to the scene, leading to the closure of the road as Greater Manchester Police (GMP) initiated an investigation.

Reports indicate that the victim, who was not an employee of J Davidson but worked for a company in Lithuania, went into cardiac arrest after being struck by a falling object suspected to be a car. An air ambulance was observed landing at the site. J Davidson expressed its condolences to the man’s family and loved ones, emphasizing the external support being provided. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) acknowledged the incident and confirmed collaboration with GMP.

GMP issued a statement confirming the man’s passing, detailing the response to the incident that transpired at a business on Atlantic Street. The area, including Craven Road, has since reopened after the presence of police, paramedics, and fire crews at the scene. J Davidson reiterated its sorrow over the tragic event and pledged cooperation with the ongoing investigations by the police and HSE.

The spokesperson for J Davidson mentioned that no comments could be made regarding the cause of the incident until the inquiries by the authorities were concluded.
