Professional darts player Beau Greaves has expressed her willingness to join the prestigious Premier League if given the opportunity. The 21-year-old gained attention after defeating Luke Littler en route to the World Youth Final, sparking discussions about her potential future success.
Renowned five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld has suggested that an impressive performance at the upcoming PDC World Championship could secure Greaves a spot among the eight Premier League players. Reflecting on past champions, including Luke Humphries, Stephen Bunting, and others, Greaves remains modest about her chances but acknowledges the excitement of such a prospect.
Greaves appreciates the encouraging remarks she has received from the darts community, noting, “It’s just nice – they don’t have to say that sort of stuff. It’s sweet for me. I watched all these players growing up.” While she remains realistic about her Premier League aspirations, she acknowledges the thrill it would bring to compete at that level.
The recent victory over Littler has boosted Greaves’ confidence, as she admits, “When I beat Luke, it did give me a big confidence boost.” Eager to prove her skills, Greaves is set to face Michael van Gerwen in their opening match at the Grand Slam of Darts, aiming to challenge stereotypes about women in the sport.
With a newfound belief in her abilities since obtaining her Tour Card, Greaves is focused on enjoying the game and showcasing her talent without putting undue pressure on herself. Embracing the challenge, she remains optimistic about her future in the sport.
