Fitbit, a well-known brand in the fitness technology industry for over 15 years, has introduced a new product called the Fitbit Air. Unlike previous models, the Fitbit Air is screenless and resembles popular wrist bands like Whoop. Although it lacks features such as message reading and heart rate monitoring, it offers unique benefits.
The Fitbit Air is designed for comfort, resembling a bracelet rather than a smartwatch. In a recent study by Google, it was found to be more comfortable than its competitors. Additionally, it boasts impressive battery life, lasting up to a week on a single charge and providing a day’s worth of power in just five minutes of fast charging. The inclusion of a magnetic charger with bi-directional technology simplifies the recharging process for users.
Despite its minimalist appearance, the Fitbit Air retains core Fitbit functionalities. It tracks sleep patterns, daily activity, exercise, heart rate, and can monitor conditions like AFib, sending notifications for irregular heart rhythms. The device is equipped with various sensors, including an optical heart rate monitor, a gyroscope, oxygen saturation sensors, and a temperature sensor.
Data collected by the Fitbit Air is directly transmitted to smartphones for analysis by the Google Health Coach, offering users a comprehensive view of their health. The device is water-resistant up to 50 meters and will be available in four color options.
The Fitbit Air is priced at £84.99 and will soon be available for purchase, catering to individuals looking for a streamlined and affordable fitness tracking solution.
