Must Read

During a visit to Windsor with US First Lady Melania Trump, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, shared that her son, Prince Louis, 7, has a unique hobby of collecting conkers. She mentioned finding conkers scattered all over their home, indicating his passion for them.

The revelation was made as Kate interacted with a group of Squirrel Scouts alongside Melania, engaging in nature activities to earn Go Wild badges. Kate, who is the joint president of the Scouts, conversed with Chief Scout Dwayne Fields about Prince Louis and his fascination with conkers during their time at Frogmore House gardens.

According to Kate, she often discovers conkers in unexpected places like cupboards and even in her son’s bed. She mentioned how Prince Louis enjoys playing with the conkers by putting them in his toy trucks, showcasing his enthusiasm for the hobby.

Collecting and playing with conkers is a popular activity among children, offering entertainment through classic skill games, simple gathering experiences, and opportunities for creative crafts and nature exploration. Their shiny appearance and the excitement of hunting for them during the fall season make conkers a favored pastime for many kids.

The event took place after a grand state banquet at Windsor Castle for US President Donald Trump’s second state visit to the UK. The children from Lewisham, south London, were treated to oat and cranberry biscuits made with honey from Kate’s beehives at her Norfolk residence, Anmer Hall.

Melania Trump also brought gifts for the children, presenting each with a jar of White House honey. Kate, in her role as joint president of the Scouts, hosted the children at Frogmore House gardens, accompanied by Chief Scout Dwayne Fields, who highlighted the significance of having the Princess of Wales support the scouting movement.

During the event, Kate engaged with the children as they built a bug hotel, expressing her interest in bees and inquired about their potential presence in the hotel. She encouraged the children to think about where bees could make their honey, fostering a fun and educational interaction.

In addition to the activities, the children enjoyed packed lunches arranged by Kate, featuring finger sandwiches, fruits, and raw vegetable sticks, providing a wholesome and enjoyable experience for all participants.
